Beyond the jewelry
For me, jewelry has never existed merely as an object — but as a way of telling stories, creating dialogue, and building emotional connections through symbolism, cultural identity, and craftsmanship.
My artistic presentations have been few, carefully selected, and each of them has marked an important chapter in the journey of Vlerina Haxhiraj Studio.
The first presentation took place at Hotel Rogner in Tirana, in an event organized by AIDA, where, alongside Albanian artisans, craftsmanship and the creative identity of Albania were celebrated.
One of the most meaningful moments of this journey was participating in a fashion show in Manhattan, New York, during the Albanian Ethnography Week, where I presented 10 alta moda jewelry creations inspired by Albanian national symbols protected by UNESCO. Photographs by Fadil Berisha documented this artistic chapter, transforming the presentation into a meeting point between fashion, heritage, and Albanian identity.
The journey then continued in Prishtina, as part of the Global Business Network, where my handcrafted creations were presented before an international audience.
Most recently, at Muza Fashion Fair, I introduced a universe inspired by the Albanian summer under the concept:
“Wear the Albanian Summer”
A visual story told through jewelry inspired by Albania’s natural beauty — the sea, seashells, corals, marine creatures, summer light, and nostalgic seasonal memories, transformed into wearable art.
Through exhibitions, collaborations, and carefully curated presentations, I continue to explore how jewelry can exist beyond adornment — as memory, symbolism, and storytelling.
